The Art of Living Well

The Art of Living well is my guiding principle - a slower, more intentional way of creating and choosing the objects that shape our everyday lives.

I’m not interested in mass production or trend cycles. I’m interested in atmosphere. Warmth. Craft. Pieces that bring a quiet confidence into a room and stay with you for years. Everything on Kanela is produced in collaboration with artisans I deeply admire - people who work with their hands, their intuition, and an honesty that can’t be rushed.

Each drop is small and considered, created with respect for materials, makers, and the world we live in. The goal isn’t to own more, but to live better - with fewer things, made well, chosen with intention. This is the essence of Kanela.

I'm Rapha.

I’m Rapha - a German artist living in Lisbon, building Kanela as a creative platform for myself and others who see the world differently. I care about real materials, real craftsmanship, and design that carries emotion. I create collections the way I paint: slowly, intuitively, following a feeling rather than a trend. My work is about personal transformation - how a single piece can shift the atmosphere of a space, the mood of a day, the way you move through your life.

Kanela is my way of sharing this world.

Made-to-Order. Zero Waste.

I don’t believe in excess. Beauty loses its meaning when it’s produced without thought. Every Kanela piece is Made-to-Order or crafted in very small batches, following the natural rhythm of the makers and materials.

I work with artisans who share my obsession with quality, working locally in Europe or in the regions where certain crafts have been mastered for generations.

The Made-to-Order model pays respect for the craft, the planet, and the people behind the production. Most importantly, we do not overproduce or have the need to play around with discounted prices.
