Handmade Pure Linen
What makes us unique – Kanela vs. Bedding Market!
We are not just another bedding or textile brand - we have consciously decided not to make any compromises. While other suppliers have a wide range, we focus exclusively on the best for healthy sleep: handmade pure linen.
Here are the three most important points that clearly set us apart from other brands:

100% Handmade Pure Linen – no blended fabric
🚫 Other brands offer a wide selection of cotton, microfiber & blended fabrics.
✅ Kanela uses 100% pure linen because we know it is the healthiest, most durable and most sustainable choice.
- Antibacterial & hypoallergenic – perfect for sensitive skin.
- Breathable & moisture-regulating – cools in summer, warms in winter.
- Extremely durable – gets better with each wash.
💡 In short: While others jump between different materials, we focus on the one perfect solution for your sleep.

Stonewashed linen – Softer from the start, no shrinkage
🚫 Most manufacturers supply “raw” linen, which is stiff at first and shrinks when washed.
✅ Our linen is "stonewashed" – this means:
- Extra soft straight out of the box – no long “breaking in” time.
- No shrinkage – other linen fabrics can shrink up to 10% the first time you wash them.
- Better drape & more comfortable on the skin – feels perfect from day one.
💡 In short: While others sell you unyielding, scratchy linen, with us you get ultra-soft, durable stonewashed linen straight away.

Sustainability without compromise – From fiber to shipping
🚫 Many brands talk about sustainability, but work with large factories & synthetic blends.
✅ Our entire production process is sustainable – from harvest to delivery.
- Our linen comes from sustainable cultivation without pesticides or artificial irrigation.
- Minimal water consumption & no chemicals in processing.
- Fair production in Europe – no mass production in questionable factories.
- Plastic-free packaging & climate-neutral shipping.
💡 In short: While others practice greenwashing, we focus on real, uncompromising sustainability – certified & transparent.

Why Kanela?

What does healthy sleep mean?
Why is linen the healthiest bedding in the world?
Why is linen the perfect choice for bedding?
Why is linen the most hygienic bedding choice?
Both linen bedding and cotton are popular materials for bedding, but there are some key differences. Linen bedding is particularly breathable and regulates heat better than cotton, which ensures a comfortable sleeping environment. Linen is also naturally antibacterial and antistatic, which makes it ideal for people with sensitive skin. Cotton, on the other hand, is softer and often easier to care for. Nevertheless, linen's robustness and durability offer many advantages that make it a worthwhile investment.
How do I wash linen?
Machine wash:
- Washing temperature: 40 °C.
- For stubborn stains, the temperature can be increased to 60 °C, but only occasionally, as high temperatures can cause shrinkage.
- Always wash linen separately from other fabrics and colors.
- If your washing machine allows it, choose the highest water level as linen is very absorbent.
Hand wash:
- Thin linen fabrics that could be damaged in the washing machine should be washed by hand.
- Wash the linen using gentle movements, without wringing, twisting or rubbing vigorously.
- Hand washing is ideal for clothes that are not heavily soiled.
What is the best way to dry my linen products?
Linen can be dried in several ways:
- Tumble dry at low temperature.
- Hung up or lying flat on a white towel.
If you use a tumble dryer, take the linen out while it is still slightly damp and then let it air dry - either hanging or laying flat.
Tip: White linen items benefit from being dried in the sun. This preserves the fresh, white color.
Please avoid overheating or overdrying as this will weaken the fibres, cause shrinkage and encourage pilling. If the fabric is overdried, it will regain its natural balance using moisture from the air.
How do you iron linen properly?
For best results, iron linen while it is still slightly damp:
- Use medium to high temperatures and steam function.
- Alternatively, you can lightly spray the fabric with water.
- Always iron on the back of the fabric.
If you prefer the natural, slightly crumpled look of linen, you can simply skip ironing. Otherwise, fold and smooth the linen after ironing for a perfect finish.
